Dhaka end miserable BPL campaign with 11th straight loss

Bottom side Durdanto Dhaka finished with 2 points from a dozen matches, the joint worst record for a side in BPL history alongside Sylhet Thunder, who also had the same number of points from 12 games in 2019-20

Durdanto Dhaka brought the curtain down on a miserable Bangladesh Premier League campaign as they lost for the 11th time in succession, this time by 10 runs against Chattogram Challengers in Chittagong’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Bottom side Dhaka finished with two points from a dozen matches, the joint worst record for a side in BPL history alongside Sylhet Thunder, who also had the same number of points from 12 games in 2019-20.

Courtesy their sixth victory in 11th attempt, Chattogram moved into the top four.

Batting first, the home side posted 159 for the loss of six wickets, riding on Tanzid Hasan’s 70 and Tom Bruce’s 48.

Shoriful Islam and Taskin Ahmed bagged two wickets each for the capital city outfit.

In reply, Dhaka were restricted to 149 for five, despite Alex Ross’ 55 and identical 29s from the unbeaten Mosaddek Hossain and Mohammad Naim.

Shuvagata Hom took two wickets for the Challengers.
