Chattogram beat Barishal to go second in BPL

The Challengers have 10 points from 7 matches while Barishal are 5th with 6 points from 7 games

Pacer Shohidul Islam claimed 3/13 as Chattogram Challengers returned to winning ways in the Bangladesh Premier League, defeating Fortune Barishal by 16 runs at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Tuesday.

Chattogram moved to second position with 10 points from seven matches by virtue of this victory while Barishal are fifth with six points from seven games.

The port city outfit piled up 145/5 after being asked to bat first but defended the modest total thanks to Shohidul, restricting Barishal to 129/8.

Tom Bruce was the top-scorer for the Challengers with an unbeaten 40-ball 50, studded with five fours and two sixes, while opener Josh Brown blasted 38 off 23 with one four and four sixes.
