Channel i won the Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association Media Cup Cricket 2024 after beating T Sports by four wickets in Friday’s final at the Paltan field.
Replying to T Sports’ 88/2 from six overs, Channei i reached their destination for the loss of two wickets in 4.2 overs riding on player of the final Sazzad Khan, who clubbed 31 runs off just six balls, and Sojib’s 34.
With six wickets and tournament high 139 runs, T Sports’ Parvez was adjudged player of the tournament.
The winners got Tk30,000 as prize money while the runners-up received Tk15,000.
Bashundhara Kings chairman and Bangladesh Football Federation vice president Imrul Hasan and Bangladesh Cricket Board director and media committee chairman Tanvir Ahmed Titu were present as guests during the grand finale and later distributed the prizes.
Also present were BSJA president ATM Sayeeduzzaman, general secretary Anisur Rahman, vice presidents Saidur Rahman Shamim and Barshon Kabir, joint secretary SM Sumon, tournament committee convener Raihan Mahmood and member secretary Robiul Islam.
