The two-day long Sylhet Strikers bowler hunt concluded Saturday as 13 cricketers were selected for net bowling sessions ahead of the upcoming edition of the Bangladesh Premier League.
Six pacers and seven spinners chosen by the Strikers coaches will now get the opportunity to bowl at the local and international cricketers in the net sessions with the country’s premier Twenty20 tournament getting underway on January 19.
Around 900 cricketers tried their luck in the trial which saw a highest speed of 80mph, while almost 1400 registered for the bowler hunt from all across Sylhet and other districts.
Under new ownership, Sylhet finished runners-up in the last edition of BPL held at the start of this year, after an impressive showing in the league phase where they topped the points table.
Selected cricketers: Mohammad Hussain Emon, Amir Hossain Joy, Jamil Ahmed, Minhaz Ahmed, Muzakkir Hossain, Mohiuddin Tarek, Rahel Ahmed and Mohammad Kayes Ahmed (all Sylhet), Azizur Rahman (Jamalpur), Al Mamun (Gaibandha), Riyadul (Manikganj), Jahidul Haque Himel, Mohammad Asaduzzaman Khan Tuhsar (both Habiganj)
