Bangladesh women’s cricket team Friday sealed the three-match One Day International series 2-1 against Pakistan, and completed the double after also winning the three-game Twenty20 international series against the visitors by the same margin.

Batting first in the ODI series decider in Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, the tourists posted 166 runs losing nine wickets, riding on an unbeaten 84 by opener Sidra Ameen.

With other opener Sadaf Shamas (31), Sidra put on 65 as the visiting side got off to a good start but after No 3 Muneeba Ali (14) and lower-order batter Diana Baig (11), none of the remaining Pakistan batters reached double digit as the hosts scripted an admirable comeback.

The home side bagged wickets at regular intervals with left-arm spinner Nahida Akter leading the way with 3/26 from 10 overs, including three maidens, and leg-spinner Rabeya Khan picking up two conceding only 35 runs in her quota of 10 overs.

In reply, the Tigresses were also off to a terrific start as Fargana Hoque Pinky (62) and Murshida Khatun (54) stitched together a 125-run stand for the opening wicket.

Fargana struck five fours facing 113 deliveries while Murshida hit half a dozen boundaries in her 106-ball knock.

The women in red and green eventually reached their destination in 45.4 overs for the loss of three wickets with captain Nigar Sultana Joty not out on 18 and No 5 Sobhana Mostary unbeaten on 19.

Fargana was adjudged player of the match while Nahida took home the player of the series award for her seven wickets.

Pakistan had won the first ODI before Bangladesh levelled the series with a thrilling victory in the Super Over.

The series was part of the International Cricket Council’s Women’s Championship 2022-2025.

3RD ODI

Pakistan women 166/9 (Sidra 84*, Nahida 3/26) lost to Bangladesh women 167/3 in 45.4 overs (Fargana 62, Murshida 54) by 7 wickets
