Bangladesh captain Shakib al Hasan has won the toss and decided to bowl first against Sri Lanka in Monday’s World Cup match in New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The Tigers made one change to the side from the last game against Pakistan at Eden Gardens in Kolkata as Tanzim Hasan replaced Mustafizur Rahman for his World Cup debut.
The Lankans made two alterations as Dhananjaya de Silva and Kusal Perera came into the playing XI in place of Dimuth Karunaratne and Dushan Hemantha.
Sri Lanka are seventh in the 10-team standings with four points from seven matches while Bangladesh are ninth with two points having played the same number of games.
Although the men in red and green are out of the race for the semi-finals, they still have something to play for as a place in the 2025 Champions Trophy is up for grabs.
The top eight sides in the points table, including Pakistan who qualify automatically as hosts, after the end of the group phase of the World Cup will advance to the Champions Trophy.
