Opening batsman Liton Das has returned to Dhaka Wednesday for a short leave due to a family emergency, the same day when Bangladesh team travelled to New Delhi from Kolkata for their next match against Sri Lanka.
The Tigers have a rest day Thursday and are scheduled to train Friday when Liton will join the team.
Bangladesh team manager confirmed to the media about Liton’s return to the country for a short period of time.
The men in red and green have two games remaining in the World Cup, first against the Lankans in New Delhi Monday and then against Australia in Pune on November 11.
Bangladesh are already out of the running for a semi-final spot after losing six games out of seven in the ongoing World Cup.
