Bangladesh dismissed New Zealand for 254 in the second and penultimate One Day International at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Saturday.

The Kiwis were struggling on 36/3 at one stage but were then rescued by the 95-run fourth wicket partnership between Henry Nicholls (49) and wicketkeeper-batter Tom Blundell (68).

Useful contributions from the lower-order eventually took the Black Caps past the 250-mark before they were all out in 49.2 overs.

Mahedi Hasan and debutant Khaled Ahmed bagged three wickets each while Mustafizur Rahman picked up two.

Stand-in New Zealand captain Lockie Ferguson earlier won the toss and elected to bat first.

The three-match series is currently level at 0-0 after the first encounter at the same venue Thursday was washed out by rain.

The tourists are looking to win their first ODI series in these shores in 15 years, having lost all seven matches to the hosts in the last two series in 2010 and 2013.

The visitors fielded an unchanged side from the opening game while the home side made two changes, replacing injured Tanzim Hasan Sakib with Hasan Mahmud and handing Khaled his debut in place of stumper-batsman Nurul Hasan.

The third and final ODI will be held at the same ground this Tuesday.

The series is the last for both teams before the World Cup starts in India on October 5.
