The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 trophy embarked on a three-day visit to Bangladesh Monday, starting with a stopover at the Padma multipurpose bridge, as part of the official trophy tour.
The trophy of the International Cricket Council’s flagship event reached Dhaka in the early hours of Monday.
On the first day of the tour, an official photoshoot took place at Service Area 1 of the iconic Padma bridge.
On the second day, Tuesday, the trophy will be on display at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium from 9am to midday for the Bangladesh national men’s and women’s cricket teams, current and former cricketers, cricket officials, organizers, and members of the media.
On the third and final day of the tour, Wednesday, the Cricket World Cup trophy will be on display for public at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in the capital from 11am onwards.
Considered one of the biggest sporting events in the world, the Men’s Cricket World Cup this year will be held in India from October 5 till November 19.
The tournament will host 45 matches across 10 venues, where 10 of the best teams in the world will battle it out for the ultimate prize in the game of cricket.
Bangladesh will begin their World Cup campaign taking on Afghanistan on October 7 in Dharamshala.
