With the exception of his role as opening batsman for the national side, Tamim Iqbal played for different teams at seven countries outside Bangladesh before announcing his shock retirement from international cricket in Chittagong Thursday.

Here are the snippets of the teams he represented, excluding Bangladesh and Bangladesh domestic sides, over the last one and a half decades of his playing career.

England

Tamim became only the second Bangladeshi to play county cricket in England after Shakib al Hasan when he signed to play for Nottinghamshire in June 2011.

During his stay, Tamim played five matches, scoring 104 runs with a highest score of 47.

Tamim also got selected to play for Essex in the NatWest Twenty20 Blast but left the tournament for personal reasons.

In July 2014, he played for the Rest of the World side in the Bicentenary Celebration match at Lord's.

New Zealand

In late October 2012, Tamim joined Wellington Firebirds for the New Zealand domestic HRV Cup, a T20 competition.

Sri Lanka

Tamim was picked up by Wayamba United for the 2012 Sri Lanka Premier League.

He accumulated 190 runs in six innings at an average of 38 with one half-century where he hit an unbeaten 93 off 61 balls.


India

Tamim was recruited by Pune Warriors for the 2011 season of Indian Premier League, although never given chance to play.

Pakistan

Tamim was roped in by Peshawar Zalmi for the 2016 Pakistan Super League.


He top-scored for his team totalling 267 runs in six innings at an average of 66.75 with three fifties.

In the 2017 PSL, he gathered 94 runs in five innings with one half-century.

In the 2018 edition, he scored 161 runs in six innings.


In 2020, he represented the Lahore Qalandars, accruing 83 runs in three innings.

Caribbean

Tamim was classified as an international elite player for the inaugural Caribbean Premier League held in 2013.

He was purchased by the St. Lucia Zouks for whom he scored 162 runs in seven innings with one fifty.

Nepal

In 2021, Tamim featured for Bhairahawa Gladiators in Nepal's Everest T20 Premier League and played five games.

He garnered 75 runs with a top score of 40.
