Bangladesh managed to score 87 losing all of their wickets while chasing a 96-run target against India in the second Twenty20 international in Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Tuesday.

With the eight-run win, India clinched the series as they won the first match by seven wickets.

Fourteen runs were needed from the last two overs with five wickets in hand as the score was 82/5 after 18 overs.

Bangladesh were in the hunt as skipper Nigar Sultana Joty was there at the crease batting on 35.

But Joty was stumped in the fifth ball of the 19th over after scoring 38 following which Bangladesh lost their remaining four wickets for just one run.

Ten runs were needed in the last over but India's Shafali Verma took three wickets in the final over and Bangladesh were bundled out for 87.

Joty was the top-scorer with her 38-run innings but no other batter managed to score in double digit for Bangladesh with 18 runs coming from extras.

Earlier, India posted 95 losing eight wickets in their stipulated 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat.

Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali cruised to 30 within four overs but Bangladesh struck back with the wicket of Mandhana (13) in the fifth over.

In the sixth over Sultana Khatun took the wicket of Shafali (19) in the first ball before cleaning up skipper Harmanpreet Kaur in the very next delivery.

Two wickets in two balls gave Bangladesh momentum as they bagged regular wickets in the middle overs to restrict India to 95.

Sultana notched three wickets conceding 21 runs for Bangladesh while Fahima Khatun picked up two.
