Pakistan captain Babar Azam praised the Bangladeshi fans and appreciated them for their unwavering support ever since the visiting side arrived in Dhaka for three T20Is and two Test matches.
On the eve of the first T20I Friday in Mirpur, Babar in the pre-match press conference said, "Bangladesh is a cricket loving nation and we have seen their support for Pakistan cricket. Even they regularly watch our training sessions from their rooftops. They are standing by road side to waive at our team bus.”
Babar informed that they will test their bench strength against Bangladesh in the three T20Is but said the visitors are well aware of the threat posed by the Tigers in their own conditions.
"We would like to test our bench strength here and this is the reason why we have changed four players in our 12-member squad for the first game against Bangladesh,” said Babar.
“Bangladesh are not an easy opponent, especially in their home conditions, and they have shown against New Zealand and Australia in recent past what they are capable of.
“Momentum always matters in cricket and we would like to carry that momentum of the T20 World Cup,” added Babar, alluding to their semi-final appearance in the recently concluded T20 World Cup where they went the entire Super 12 campaign unbeaten.
