India name women’s squad for Bangladesh series

Senior pacer Shikha, pace sensation Renuka and batting star Richa were among the big names absent

India have named their One Day International and Twenty20 International squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh in July.

Senior pacer Shikha Pandey, pace sensation Renuka Singh Thakur and batting star Richa Ghosh were among the big names absent as India named their squads for the three T20Is and as many ODIs against Bangladesh starting this Sunday.

Radha Yadav and Rajeshwari Gayakwad were also missing with India opting to go with an inexperienced spin attack. 

There was room for several newcomers with wicket-keeper Uma Chetry, Rashi Kanojiya, Anusha Bareddy and Minnu Mani forcing their way into the squad.

The series begins with three T20Is, which will be followed by three ODIs.

All matches will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
