Left arm spinner Murad Khan took four wickets as Jessore beat Brahman Baria by 59 runs at the 33rd National Cricket Championship at the Dinajpur stadium yesterday.
Winning the toss, Brahman Baria elected to field first and bowled well to restrict Jessore to a total of 137. Opener Hasanuzzaman top scored with 25 for Jessore while Prosenjit Das picked up four wickets for 24 runs for Brahman Baria. In reply, Brahman Baria crashed to 72 all out in 27 overs, with man of the match Murad Khan taking 4-10 for the victors.
In the other match of the day at Shahid Chandu stadium in Bogra, Narayanganj defeated Moulavi Bazar by four wickets. Batting first, Moulvi Bazar scored 183/9, with Mosaddek Iftekhar smashing 69 runs, while left arm spinner Sajib Datta took four wickets for Narayanganj. In reply, Narayanganj’s middle-order chased down the target in 46 overs to complete a comfortable win.
SK Humayun scored 57 and Taiabur Parvez added 44 runs for Narayanganj. Sajib Datta was named man of the match.
