Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club crushed Victoria SC by 147 runs in the ongoing Women’s Club Cricket on July 9. In the other game of the day, Gulshan Youth Club defeated Rising Girls CA by nine wickets.
At the Dhanmondi Cricket Staduim, Victoria won the toss and invited Jamal to bat first. The opportunity was used wisely by Jamal and they posted 203 runs for the loss of six wickets. Farzana Haque’s 83 steered Jamal to the humungous score, while her colleague, Farzana Akter added an unbeaten 41. In reply, Victoria were bowled out for 55 in 25 overs. Jamal pacer Panna Ghosh bagged two wickets for 11 runs and Sheikh Jamal batter Farzana was named Player of the Match for her brilliant innings.
At the City Club Ground, Gulshan Youth registered yet another win by defeating Rising Girls. Rising Girls chose to bat first after winning the toss but a collapse saw the side score only 84-7 in 40 overs. Gulshan Youth chased down the score in 26 overs for the loss of one wicket. Mahmuda Khan of Gulshan top scored with 44.
