This white ball schedule marks England’s first ever visit to Bangladesh since 2016

England cricket team have confirmed the schedule of their tour to Bangladesh in early 2023.

The English side are scheduled to reach Dhaka at the end of February next year for three one-day internationals and as many Twenty20 Internationals.

Bangladesh Cricket Board Tuesday announced the itinerary for the tour.

This white-ball schedule marks England's first ever visit to Bangladesh since 2016.

The tour will kick off with the ODI series with the first two matches taking place at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Chattogram's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium will hold the third and final ODI, followed by the first game of the T20I series.

The teams will return to Dhaka for the second and third matches at SBNCS.

England, world champions in both white-ball formats, will arrive on February 20 and play two warm-up fixtures ahead of the ODI series.

The ODI matches are part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League.

Both teams have already secured direct qualification for the 2023 World Cup in India.

Out of 14 ODI series played at home since November 2014, the Tigers have lost only one, against England (1-2) in 2016.

During this time, Bangladesh recorded ODI series victories against Zimbabwe, Pakistan, India, South Africa, Afghanistan, the West Indies and Sri Lanka, winning 35 of 44 matches in the process.

“In a World Cup year this series provides a wonderful opportunity for the teams to assess their respective strengths. For the fans in Bangladesh and all over the world, the ODIs and T20 internationals offer a mouthwatering prospect. Bangladesh have an outstanding white-ball record at home and we all know what a brilliant side England are,” said BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury in a press release.

Clare Connor, ECB Interim CEO, said, “It is exciting that the England men's white-ball squad will return to Bangladesh for the first time since 2016. The atmosphere generated in Dhaka and Chattogram for this eagerly-anticipated tour will be fantastic.

“There is a great passion for cricket across Bangladesh, and we expect a tough challenge against a side who have an excellent record in home conditions.”
