Update : 04 Nov 2022, 07:02 PM

Bangladesh can still qualify for the semi-finals of the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup in Australia, despite their loss against India.

The Tigers are in Group 2 of the Super 12 stage alongside India, Pakistan, South Africa, Zimbabwe and the Netherlands.

Bangladesh have won two matches, lose two and have four points after four games.

Pakistan Thursday defeated South Africa by 33 runs (Duckworth/Lewis method).

After Pakistan's win, India lead the Group 2 points table with six points with all the teams having played four games each.

The Proteas are second with five points, while Bangladesh and Pakistan have four points each, but Babar Azam's team boast a superior net run rate.

Zimbabwe and the Dutch prop up the bottom of the standings with three and two points respectively.

To qualify for the last four, Bangladesh must beat Pakistan in their last group phase game at Adelaide Oval this Sunday, but first hope that the Dutch upset the Proteas in the day's first game at the same venue.

Bangladesh will play against Pakistan in the day's second game.
