India have many world-class batsmen in their ranks in the form of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
But one man standing tall among these heavyweights in recent years is Suryakumar Yadav.
The swashbuckling right-hander has played 37 T20Is so far and scored 1,179 runs with an average of 40.65 and stunning strike rate of 177.
The Mumbai Indians cricketer was the lone bright spot with his 40-ball 68 in India's disappointing total of 133 in the South Africa defeat.
Against the Netherlands, his sparkling unbeaten 25-ball 51 gave the late push to the innings as the men in blue eventually managed 179/2 and went on to record a convincing victory.
“He has been playing really well for India for last one year or so. Considering the statistics in last one year, he is the best batsman for India. But India have many world-class players in their batting line-up. Their batting depth is phenomenal. We will plan accordingly in the team meeting. If we want to win then we have to overcome their batting threat,” said Shakib on the eve of their clash.
Bangladesh bowlers will have their work cut out against the experienced Indian batting pair of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli but they especially have to watch out for Suryakumar and his repertoire of shots and plan well against him.
