The first T20I was much too close for Bangladesh’s comfort as hosts United Arab Emirates narrowly lost by seven runs but the second and final T20I was much more like it as the higher ranked Tigers won by 32 runs to sweep the series.

Chasing Bangladesh’s 169/5, the Emiratis were restricted to 137/5 in their 20 overs in Dubai Tuesday.

Mosaddek Hossain bagged two wickets while Taskin Ahmed, Ebadat Hossain and Nasum Ahmed all picked up one each as the Tigers strolled to victory in the end.

Captain Chundangapoyil Rizwan and Basil Hameed offered brief resistance after UAE stumbled to 29/4, putting on 90 for the fifth wicket.

Rizwan was unbeaten on 51 off 36 balls while Hameed made 42 off 40.

But the required run rate was always climbing and Bangladesh bowlers did a great job keeping a lid on proceedings.

Earlier, the visitors racked up 169/5 in their 20 overs after being asked to bat first, thanks to Mehedi Hasan Miraz’s career best 46 and cameos from Liton Das (25), Mosaddek (27), Yasir Ali (21*) and skipper Nurul Hasan (19*).

Aayan Afzal Khan was the pick of the UAE bowlers with 2/33 while Sabir Ali, Aryan Lakra and Karthik Meiyappan claimed one wicket apiece.
