Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim has received the cap of the ICC ODI Team of the year 2021.
Mushfiq took to his social media Thursday and posted a photo wearing the blue cap awarded by the International Cricket Council.
Bangladesh had two more cricketers who made it to the team in 2021 in the shape of all-rounder Shakib al Hasan and left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for their exploits over the calendar year.
The three Bangladesh cricketers were placed alongside Paul Stirling and Simi Singh from Ireland, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman from Pakistan, Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera from Sri Lanka and Rassie van der Dussen and Janneman Malan from South Africa in the team announced by the global cricket regulatory body in January this year.
Pakistan skipper Babar was named as the captain of the team by the ICC.
Shakib played nine one-day internationals in 2021 and managed to score 277 runs at an average of 39.57 with two half-centuries.
He also scalped 17 wickets at an average of 17.52.
Shakib was in full flight in his return to international cricket in the series against the West Indies at home, where he was adjudged the Player of the Series for his efforts.
Mushfiq too played nine ODIs and scored 407 runs at an average of 58.14 with one century in 2021 and named the wicket-keeper of the 11-member ICC team.
Mustafizur on the other hand had ruled the roost in ODI cricket in the year with his clever variations and change of pace.
Lethal up front and at the death, he bagged 18 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 21.55.
He also proved tough for the batters to get away as proven by his economy of 5.03.
