Pacer tiger's shoulder surgery today

Update : 05 Oct 2016, 09:07 PM
Bangladesh pacer sensation Mustafizur Rahman is all set to go under the knife on Thursday after the fast bowling sensation incurred a shoulder injury in England recently. The surgery will be supervised by Dr Andrew Wallace of Fortis Hospital, London. Dr Wallace had performed a shoulder operation on Sachin Tendulkar at Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth on March 27, 2006. Bangladesh Cricket Board’s chief physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury had given the information on August 5. The 20-year old pacer had consulted two shoulder surgeons in England – Lennard Funk and Tony Kocchar – to assess his condition and his reports were also sent to Australia’s David Hoye for observation. But as Lennard will not be available until August 22, the board has decided to consult with Dr Wallace. Mustafizur travelled to England earlier last month to join Sussex for the Royal London One-Day Cup and the NatWest Twenty20 Blast. Following a brilliant debut in the T20 Blast, the Bangladesh paceman complained of pain in his shoulder. He was in the 13-man squad for the game against Gloucestershire in the One-Day Cup and had travelled to the ground to practise with the rest of the team, but persistent pain forced Sussex to take the precautionary move.
