Afghanistan cricket team are set to reach Dhaka on February 12 instead of February 19.
The visitors, scheduled to tour Bangladesh for three ODIs and as many T20Is, made a change in plan to their arrival in order to have a conditioning camp ahead of the series.
Bangladesh Cricket Board agreed to the request from the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
The Afghans will have a four- to five-day long camp in Sylhet and host board BCB has extended its helping hand to make the arrangement.
“Afghanistan requested us that they want to have a conditioning camp and we have kept their request. We have planned to have their conditioning camp in Sylhet, for which they will now arrive four to five days ahead of their initial schedule. At the moment we are expecting them to arrive on February 12,” informed BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury to the media.
The tourists will be under Covid-19 bio-secured bubble security and follow the instructions set by the Bangladesh government.
The visiting side will be permitted limited movement.
BCB had planned to host the series in Sylhet and Chittagong which however, has now changed.
The three T20Is will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the port city and the three ODIs at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
A decision on allowing spectators in the stands is yet to be taken and the outcome will be based on directives from the authority.
