Minister Group Dhaka batsman Andre Russell was on the receiving end of a bizarre run out during their Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 2022 opener against Khulna Tigers in Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Friday.
Russell played a Thisara Perera delivery in the 15th over to short third man, where Mahedi Hasan was stationed, and went for a quick single with captain Mahmudullah running towards the striker's end.
Mahedi gathered the ball and threw at Mahmudullah's end to disturb the stumps but the Dhaka skipper was safely inside.
The ball then remarkably ricocheted towards the non-striker's end and amazingly hit the timber again, and Russell was caught short of his crease.
Russell was just getting started, hitting the previous delivery for a six, before a cruel twist of circumstances ended his knock prematurely.
The BPL commentators were discussing how many throws it would take Mahedi to repeat the incredible trick.
