Cricketers return to field with fitness camp

Update : 12 Jun 2013, 06:57 PM
The 30-member Bangladesh national cricket team preliminary squad will begin its fitness camp under the supervision of national coach Shane Jurgensen at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today. Bangladesh Cricket Board on Tuesday announced the squad ahead of the home series against New Zealand in October-November. As informed by Shane to the media earlier, the camp will emphasise on the fitness of the cricketers who have just returned from a long vacation after the month-long tour of Zimbabwe in May. Suspended cricketer Mohammad Ashraful has already been ruled out from the camp while ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan and opening batsman Tamim Iqbal were excused for personal reasons. Shakib will be missing the camp for his commitment to Leicester in the Friends Cup T20 in England while Tamim was allowed leave for his wedding. However, it came in as a surprise for left-arm spinner Enamul Haque Jr who was kept out of the 30-man squad. Enamul was a member of the touring squad in Zimbabwe and played in the first Test of the two-match series. The selectors will keep a close eye on the camp as the Bangladesh ‘A’ squad for the tour of England next month will be selected from this bunch of players.
