Bangladesh openers Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir Hasan remained unbeaten at close of day two as they trail visitors India by 80 runs in the second and final Test match in Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Friday.
India finished their first innings on 314 riding on superb counter-attacking batting from Rishabh Pant (93) and Shreyas Iyer (87).
Bangladesh started well after the lunch interval as Taskin Ahmed took the prized wicket of Virat Kohli (24) in the second over.
But Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer batted aggressively and scored freely to take the control.
Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam took all three wickets on day two morning session, dismissing KL Rahul (10), Shubman Gill (20) and Cheteshwar Pujara (24).
Both Rahul and Gill were given out leg before wicket, while Pujara departed after a sharp catch taken by Mominul Haque at silly mid-on.
Taijul ended up with four wickets conceding 74 runs, while captain Shakib al Hasan also bagged four giving away 79 runs.
Bangladesh were all out for 227 in their first innings.
