Rangpur lift women’s national league title

Rangpur clinched the 6th Women’s National Cricket League beating Khulna by six wickets in the final at the Sylhet Divisional Stadium yesterday. Defending champions Khulna elected to bat on a gloomy and paid the price for that as they lost wickets at regular intervals to end up making 122-9. Pabitra Roy, Doly Rani, Tithy Rani and Shatira Jesy claimed a couple of wickets each for Rangpur. In reply Pinky’s 32 and opener Tumpa’s unbeaten 54 saw Rangpur cruise to their target with ease as they lifted their second title in six editions.  Saila Sharmin picked 26 wickets and scored 181 runs in the meet to become the player of the tournament and also the highest wicket taker while Khulna skipper Salma Khatun was the highest scorerwith 304 runs.
