Saila mauls Barisal

Saila Sharmin powered Rangpur to a huge 211-run win against Barisal in the last match of first round of 6th National Women’s Cricket League at the Sylhet District Stadium yesterday. Table toppers Khulna opted to bat first and piled up a massive total of 271 runs. Saila Sharmin, Sultana Khatun and Tulika Biswas scored 35, 37 and 38 runs respectively. In reply, Barisal faced the heat of Saila who demolished the Barisal batting by claiming six wickets for just 12 runs. Barisal were all out for 60 only. With the win, Khulna advanced to the second round as table toppers. After the end of first round, Khulna have 12 points with five wins out of six matches. Rangpur are at second place with nine points while Dhaka and Sylhet lie third and fourth respectively. The second round of the 6th National Women’s Cricket League begins today. Khulna will take on Rangpur at the Sylhet Divisional Stadium while Dhaka will face host Sylhet at the Sylhet District Stadium today.
