Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced Stuart Law, the former national team coach, as the new Bangladesh U-19 head coach.
It is understood that the former Australia cricketer will reach Dhaka in July and take charge.
Law will replace Naveed Newaz after the latter opted to join the Sri Lankan national set-up following more than four years in Bangladesh.
BCB president Nazmul Hasan made the announcement following a board meeting at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur Thursday.
Nazmul also named former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer as the BCB batting coach and the former opener will work with various teams and camps under BCB.
“We have appointed Law and Jaffer. Law will be joining as the U-19 head coach and Wasim as BCB batting coach and he will work at various places [teams and camps],” said the BCB chief to the media.
Law first worked with the BCB as the national team head coach during the 2011-2012 season.
Under his guidance Bangladesh played their first ever Asia Cup final, in 2012.
The former middle-order batter’s last international assignment was with Afghanistan when he joined them as head coach on an interim basis during the tour of Bangladesh in March.
Meanwhile, former India batter Jaffer worked as the Bangladesh national team batting consultant for a few months in 2019.
