Best XI of BBPL 2022

Here is the best XI of the recently concluded BBPL based on player’s performance and impact on winning the games

Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 2022 has seen some great battle between bat and bowl and perfectly finished with one of the greatest finals where the champions won by narrowest of margins. Some young local talent shone bright in this tournament along with regular, experienced performers from home and abroad. Here is the best XI of the recently concluded BBPL based on player’s performance and impact on winning the games.

Tamim Iqbal

Team: Minister Group Dhaka

Stats: The left hander scored 407 runs from nine innings with a high score of 101. His strike rate was better compared to his T20 career (138.98) and he scored four fifties with one century.

Munim Shahriar

Team: Fortune Barishal

Stats: The right-handed opener played just six innings in the tournament but made significant impact with solid batting in the powerplay. Munim scored 178 runs from six innings with a brilliant strike rate of 152.13

Will Jacks

Team: Chattogram Challengers

The young English batsman scored runs consistently for Chattogram throughout the tournament and finished as the highest run scorer with 414 runs. He averaged 41.40 and his strike rate 155.05 was superb as well 

Shakib Al Hasan (C)

Team: Fortune Barishal

Stats: Man of the tournament Shakib had a stunning tournament with both bat and ball as at one stage he was adjudged man of the match five times in a row. He was brilliant as a captain as well. Shakib scored 284 from 11 innings with 144.16 strike rate and also took 16 wickets. 

Yasir Ali Chowdhury

Team: Khulna Tigers

Stats: The middle order batsman looked confident and played some good innings under pressure during crucial moments. Yasir scored 219 runs from eight innings with the average of 31.38 and strike rate of 139.49

 Moeen Ali

Team: Comilla Victorians

Stats: The English all-rounder missed few games in the early stage of the tournament but the man from Birmingham made an immediate impact with all-round performances when he joined with his team. Moeen scored 225 runs from seven innings with the strike rate of 150 and took 9 wickets from eight innings.

 Anamul Haque (Wk)

Team: Sylhet Sunrisers

Stats: The wicketkeeper batsman was in good shape in terms of fitness and also was in good form with the bat in the top order. Anamul scored 280 runs from nine innings with 31.11 average and 121.73 strike rate.

Dwayne Bravo

Team: Fortune Barishal

Stats: The legendary West Indies all-rounder was on song with the ball as he took 18 wickets in 10 matches. His economy rate in the tournament was good as it was 7.78. Bravo also scored 120 runs from nine innings with a strike rate of 130.43.

Nazmul Islam Apu

Tram: Sylhet Sunrisers

Stats: The left-arm spinner played only six games of the tournaments surprisingly.  But he took 11 wickets overall from five innings as he was not even given the ball in a match. However, those few matches were enough for the bowler who ended with an impressive strike rate of 7.15.

 Mrittunjoy Chowdhury

Team: Chattogram Challengers

Stats: Mrittunjoy can be easily considered one of the best findings of the tournament. The young left arm pacer took 15 wickets from just eight innings.  His economy rate (9.14) was a major area which he needed to improve but he was praised for his cool finish when he defended 11 runs in the final over against Dhaka.   

 Mustafizur Rahman

Team:Comilla Victorians

Stats: Left arm seamer Mustafizur is in fine form and with good fitness as he picked up 19 wickets overall from 11 games. The fizz bowled well in the death overs and looked impressive with all of his variations during crucial moments of the matches.   

Andre Fletcher (12th man)

Team: Khulna Tigers

Stats: Fletcher was a consistent performer for Khulna Tigers and played some entertaining innings. Particularly the "spiceman’s" unbeaten century while chasing 183 in a do-or-die match was a special knock. The right-hander ended the tournament being the second highest run scorer with 410 runs from 11 innings with a strike rate of 138.98.
