Bangladesh Cricket Board will form its new committee ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup, informed board president Nazmul Hasan.
The BCB chief following a board meeting at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Wednesday informed that the organization is looking to handover the charge to the new elected committee ahead of the world event, which is set to start at Oman and the United Arab Emirates on October 19.
“We want to hold the election as soon as possible. We are looking at October. We want to give charge to the new committee ahead of the T20 World Cup,” said Nazmul.
Nazmul took charge as the BCB president in 2012 following nomination from the government.
In 2013 he emerged as the first elected BCB president being uncontested, and remained the same in the 2017 election.
His current term is set to finish this month.
Nazmul following the BCB Annual General Meeting on August 26 had informed of a surprise in the upcoming election.
The BCB boss echoed the same sentiment following the meeting Wednesday.
“There are high chances that we will see new things getting introduced in this election. But I do not want to disclose those [Wednesday]. You all will get to know when the election commissioner will start the work. You will for sure see changes,” said Nazmul.
The BCB boss once again did not directly answer if he would remain the board president, but said workload of the president will get delegated.
