Bangladesh will play all their matches in the tour of Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club behind closed doors.
Zimbabwe Cricket in a media release Tuesday confirmed that the Sports and Recreation Commission of the country has granted permission to host Bangladesh in July.
The month-long series involves a three-match one-day international series, which is part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League.
The tour also comprises one Test match and three Twenty20 games.
ZC has got the approval from its authority, despite the central directive to suspend all sporting activities in the country as part of new Covid-19 restrictions aimed at containing the spread of the virus.
Hosts Zimbabwe however, has changed from its initial plan of having two venues for the series – Bulawayo and Harare.
“All the matches of the series now will be played behind closed doors at Harare Sports Club, with no spectators allowed in the ground as part of the pandemic protocols that ZC has put in place at its facilities,” said the ZC media release.
Bangladesh will begin the tour with a two-day practice match on July 3-4, followed by the lone Test on July 7.
Ahead of the ODI series, the tourists will play a 50-over warm-up game on July 14.
The three ODIs has been pencilled in for July 16, 18 and 20 respectively, followed by the three-match T20 series, scheduled for July 23, 25 and 27 July.
The tour will be held in a bio-secure bubble, which simply refers to an environment that is aimed at keeping the teams relatively isolated from the outside world so as to greatly minimize the risk of Covid-19 infection.
Bangladesh cricket team are scheduled to depart Dhaka for the African nation early next Tuesday.
