Series between Bangladesh-South Africa women to continue in Sylhet

Bangladesh women’s emerging team will host their South African counterparts for a five-match one-day series starting Sunday

Update : 03 Apr 2021, 04:30 PM

Bangladesh women’s emerging team’s home series against South Africa emerging team will continue as per schedule despite the countrywide lockdown to be observed from Monday onwards for at least seven days.

Bangladesh Cricket Board women’s wing manager Towhid Mahmood informed this to the media Saturday.

Bangladesh government Saturday imposed a week-long lockdown due to rising cases of Covid-19 in the country.

“We are to go ahead with the series as of now. We are not allowing crowd in the stadiums and the teams will be in bio-secured bubble anyways. We have our first game (today). We will go ahead with the series as planned unless there is a direction from the government. The message from the board to us is to go ahead as planned,” said Towhid.

The ninth edition of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games will go on despite the week-long countrywide lockdown imposed by the government Saturday.
