Soumya Sarkar has been brought in as the replacement for injured all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in the Bangladesh squad for the second Test against the West Indies.
The left-hander, who has a century and four half centuries in 15 Tests, has joined the squad’s training on Wednesday.
Shakib was ruled out after failing to recover from an injury that he sustained during the first of the two ICC World Test Championship matches against the West Indies in Chittagong.
The second Test gets underway at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on 11 February. West Indies lead the series 1-0 after winning the first Test by three wickets.
