Read more: Anamul eyeing return to national fold
According to sources, the squad is likely to feature senior cricketers in the shape of wicketkeeper-batsmen Liton Das and Anamul Haque, pacers Abul Hasan, Abu Haider and Abu Jayed, top-order batsmen Mehedi Maruf and Imtiaz Hossain, all-rounders Tanbir Hayder and Nazmul Hossain Shanto and spinner Jubair Hossain. The young members, meanwhile, in the form of Yasir Ali Chowdhury, Irfan Sukkur, Tasamul Haque, Nihaduzzaman, Hossain Ali and Saifuddin are likely to be included as well. Liton, who has been in and out of the national fold lately, is likely to lead the BCB HP in the first few matches. As opposition, the BCB HP unit will face teams formed by Australian first-class cricketers. The national think-tank has set its mind to create immediate back-up options for the national team through the HP programme. And this has created a major opportunity for the national discards. With that said, the selectors have already named five cricketers from the HP unit for the Tigers' national camp for Australia. The national preliminary squad for the home series against Australia in August and tour of South Africa in September-October will begin fitness camp from July 10. Liton, Anamul, Abul, Tanbir and Saifuddin were named in the national preliminary squad.
