Sabbir comfortable to bat at any position

The Bangladesh journalists covering the Tigers in the 2017 Champions Trophy faced a tough time on Saturday as there were some confusions regarding the practice ground. According to the official ICC mail, Bangladesh were scheduled to practise at the London School of Economics and Political Science ground, which is situated almost 13 miles away from England's capital city. But the journalists who went there later found out that the Tigers were actually training at a ground located near Barleylands. So it was indeed a hectic day for the journalists as they had to return to the station and finally got hold of the training session. The Tigers spent time at the nets and also did some short catching. Meanwhile, there were a few questions raised after the Bangladesh team management decided to go with eight batsmen in their opening game against England at Kennington Oval on Thursday. Sabbir Rahman, who usually bats at No 3 was demoted to No 6, making way for Imrul Kayes. Sabbir however, said he has no qualms about being sent lower in the batting order. “I think wherever my team want me to bat I am pretty much comfortable with it. And I am ready for it. Whichever position I bat, I try to play for my team, and for me as well. I don’t face problems in adjusting as I enjoy the role given to me by the team management. I still don’t know in which position I am going to bat in the next game but I am up for it wherever I get the chance,” Sabbir told the media. The 25-year old, who also picked up the wicket of Alex Hales with his leg spin, informed that he is looking forward to play the role of an all-rounder in the upcoming days whenever the team require. “I always enjoy bowling and I want to bowl every time although I don’t get the opportunity. But whenever I get the opportunity, I try to give my best,” he said. Meanwhile, despite posting a huge total of 305 runs, the Tigers eventually lost the game against the host by eight wickets as the bowlers were unable to give regular breakthroughs. But Sabbir said they are not worried over past results and are rather targeting an improved display against Australia in their next match.
