Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza is doing fine and recovering well from Covid-19 infection, The player, who is a lawmaker of the country now, took his public social media account on Monday to inform latest condition of his health.
Concerns were triggered in the cricket fraternity after reports broke out on Mashrafe being severely ill and required to get admitted to hospital on Monday afternoon.
Mashrafe has asthma complexity but the condition had never worsened after contracting coronavirus as claimed by some viral posts on the social media platforms. Mashrafe however clarified the situation.
“I am still physically healthy. I am receiving necessary medical services staying at home. I may need to go to the hospital for some tests and that is part of a normal procedure. Information about me needing hospitalization or of not getting a room is completely baseless. Please do not be confused for any reasons or disturbed by any such news. Everyone pray for me. We must win this war together,” said Mashrafe through a status on social media.
Renowned physician Dr ABM Abdullah, who is looking after Mashrafe, also assured the fact.
“I spoke to Mashrafe yesterday [on Sunday] and he was doing well. He should only go to the hospital if he has breathing difficulties, otherwise, he is fine to take treatment staying at home,” informed Dr. ABM Abdullah to the media.
Mashrafe was tested Covid-19 positive on Saturday. On the same day news of former Bangladesh opener Nafees Iqbal and left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam Apu also infected by the virus had emerged. Both Nafees and Nazmul are recovering well from the illness.
