Soon after the ban by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, one of the world’s greatest all-rounders, was also removed from all cricket rankings.
But, hopefully, once he returns after the ban ends, it would not be too hard for a player like the former Bangladesh T20 and ODI captain to regain his position in the rankings.
Shakib had been on the top of the list of best all-rounders in all the three formats of the game for a long time.
Since the two-year ICC ban, one year being suspended, which started on October 29 last year, the ace all-rounder has been living in the United States with his wife Umme Ahmed Shishir and their two daughters.
And with all of that going on, Sunday must have been a wonderful day for Shakib when he got a new title on the occasion of the Father’s Day, nearly two months after the birth of his second daughter.
The recognition came from Shishir through a post on social media where she wished Shakib on Father’s Day, calling him the best father in the world.
Along with a smiling photo of Shakib holding their daughters close to his heart, she on her Facebook and Instagram pages wrote: “Happy Father’s Day to the best baba in the world!”
“It is unbelievable how you’re never out of energy to be available for the kids. And the immense effort you put in towards taking care of the kids starting from being an all-nighter to feeding, playing, reading etc.
“And keeping me away from any kinds of stress, giving me enough time to rest and me time! Praising you would be beyond my words! We love you,” said Shishir.
Shakib married Shishir, a Bangladeshi-American in December 2012. They had met each other first in 2011 when Shakib was playing county cricket for Worcestershire in England.
The couple had their first daughter Alayna Aubrey Hasan on November 8, 2015 and second daughter Errum Hasan on April 24 this year.
