Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim and pacer Rubel Hossain have taken different initiatives to support people struggling from the coronavirus situation in the country.
Mushfiq alongside financial aid to those in need in his home town Bogra, has also donated 200 pieces of PPE [personal protective equipment], masks and gloves to Bogra Medical College Hospital.
Earlier on Tuesday, Mushfiqur took to his public social media page and said, “Shubho Noboborsho [Happy Bangla New Year]. I hope everyone is trying to stay safe. I hope you will stay at home and celebrate the New Year. You all are aware that the world is fighting against coronavirus and Bangladesh is not different.”
“I would like to thank all the doctors, nurse, personals from the security agencies specially the police and army to come in service of the country during this critical time. They are ensuring that we are safe. I am sure the almighty is seeing your hard work and you will surely be rewarded,” Mushfiqur added in his message.
On the other hand right-arm pacer Rubel. apart from helping people of Mirpur in capital has extended his support to people of his home town Bagerhat. Rubel has donated 20 infrared thermometers which were distributed with help of the Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Mamunur Rashid and local chairman.
Fever is one of the first symptoms of Covid-19 infection and the thermometers will help the health service workers to quickly detect temperature of the body.
“These thermometers will have been distributed to different health complexes in Bagerhat. Everyone is providing food aid, so I spoke to Tonmoy bhai [Sheikh Tonmoy, MP of Bagerhat 2 constituency] and decided to provide these thermometers,” said Rubel.
