Bangladesh Cricket Board is planning a reception of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup champions Bangladesh initially at a small scale. The young Tigers are set to reach Dhaka on Wednesday and BCB is mulling to arrange a reception at Dhaka airport for now given that many of the team members will be in rush to go home.
BCB president Nazmul informed a grand reception is planned but that will not be possible to execute immediately.
“We have a big plan to felicitate U19 team and it team management but not at the moment. You must be already aware of sacrifices few of the members of the team had to do so that the team momentum is not distracted in middle of the tournament. Few of the players want to go home right after they reach Dhaka,” said Nazmul at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday.

“We are planning to arrange a reception for the team at the airport [Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka] but that has to be at a limited scale. Our airport is a very busy place and We cannot disturb the passengers. So that is the plan for now,” BCB chief added.
Bangladesh emerged as the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup champions for the first time in history on Sunday riding on a three-wicket [DLS] victory over India U19 at Potchefstroom.
