One of the few bright moments for Bangladesh on day two of the day-night Test match against India was a spectacular diving catch by Taijul Islam to dismiss Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
Kohli was batting confidently on day two, and reached his hundred in the 68th over of the innings.
It was the ace batsman’s 27th Test century, and his 41st in 188 innings across all three formats since becoming captain.
Kohli is now level with the record of former Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who scored 41 centuries in 376 innings as skipper.
The Indian skipper began attacking the bowlers after reaching three figure, and hit four back-to-back boundaries off Abu Jayed in the 71st over.
@BCBtigers wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das and off-spinner Nayeem Hasan have both been ruled out of the rest of the Kolkata Test match, as they were diagnosed with delayed onset of concussion.https://t.co/PIwSeEtiKA#BCBTIGERS #BCB #TIGERS #BANGLADESHCRICKET #BANGLADESH #CRICKET

However, the more aggressive stance would lead to Kohli’s downfall when Ebadat Hossain was handed the new ball.
Midway through the 81st over, Kohli played an uppish flick on a wide delivery from Ebadat.
The ball flew towards the deep fine-leg position, where Taijul was fielding.
Taijul initially misjudged the flight of the ball, and had to dive to his right to complete a stunning effort.
Kohli, who had scored 136, could not help but smile after watching the flying catch.
