Bangladesh opening batsman Saif Hasan has been ruled out of the second and final Test match of the series against host India due to injury.

Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed the news through a media release Wednesday morning.

The media release stated, “Saif had split his finger webbing while on 12th man fielding duty during the first Test in Indore. The injury has not yet healed and the medical team is of the opinion that he will benefit from being rested to full recovery. Taking the state of injury into consideration, Saif has been ruled out of the second Test.”

Saif was on the field as the substitute fielder on day two’s morning session in the Indore Test.

He took a sharp catch of Cheteshwar Pujara at slip, diving to his left off the bowling of Abu Jayed.

Saif has played 37 first-class matches with an average of 45.81.
