Bangladesh have lost the T20I series against hosts India despite a winning start in Delhi.
India’s comeback began with the second match in Rajkot, and was completed when Bangladesh’s batsmen lost the plot in the middle overs of the third match in Nagpur.

Naim, a new kid on the block
Mohammad Naim made a brilliant debut, scoring 26, 36 and 81 in three T20Is of the series. Naim scored 26 in Delhi, while chasing 149 on a tricky pitch. He also played well in the second game, scoring 36 to give Bangladesh a good start. However, his third innings in the series was the most impressive, as he conducted a stunning counter attack after Bangladesh were struggling at 13/2 after four overs. The 20-year old had scored 8 of 15 deliveries before lifting the tempo and going on to score a total 81 off just 48 deliveries. In light of his performances, the young left-handed opener can be considered as a good find for Bangladesh in the T20 format.

Lack of fire power in the slog overs
Bangladesh have been struggling with slog over hitting in recent years, and that was exposed in the second game of the series. The Tigers made a good start in Rajkot, but failed to put up an adequate total on a placid pitch, scoring just 17 runs in the last three overs of the innings. Acting skipper Mahmudullah is often endowed with the responsibility of power hitting at the tail-end of the batting innings, but he failed to impress this time around. Young middle-order batsmen Afif Hossain and Mosaddek Hossain, who are not big hitters, also failed to help Bangladesh to strong finishes.
Aminul’s impressive leg spin
Young leggie Aminul Islam performed impressively in the first two games with his attacking leg spin. In the first match, the young leg spinner took two crucial wickets to restrict India to a lowly total. He also bowled brilliantly in the second game, while all the other bowlers conceded runs heavily on a docile track in Rajkot. His bowling was less impressive in the third match, where he also dropped a crucial catch.

Poor performance from the Fizz
Mustafizur Rahman has been regarded as the most lethal weapon in Bangladesh’s bowling armory in recent years, but the left-hander definitely struggled in this series. The Fizz not only went wicket-less, but also leaked 92 runs in his 9.4 overs.
