Saifuddin ruled out of India T20Is

Multiple scans have suggested that Saif’s recovery would take more time

Update : 24 Oct 2019, 09:45 PM

Bangladesh all-rounder Saifuddin has been ruled out of next month’s T20I series against India due to a persistent back injury.

Multiple scans have suggested that the player’s recovery would take more time.

He will continue with his rehab and be monitored by the BCB’s medical team.

Bangladesh team physio Julian Calefato said, “Due to a reoccurring back injury, Saif will be rested from the India tour this year, giving him an opportunity to consolidate his recovery over a longer period of time. He now will also have the opportunity to spend more time strengthening his body and his situation will be reviewed by the medical team again in the upcoming weeks for further updates.”

Saifuddin missed the three-match Sri Lanka ODI series away after the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales.

Later, he was fit for tri-nation T20I series against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe at home.

The replacement for Saifuddin has not been declared yet officially by the BCB.

Bangladesh team will start their training camp from Friday, ahead of the much-anticipated tour of India, also comprising two Test matches.
