Bangladesh women made a winning start in the World T20I Qualifiers as they beat the United States by eight wickets in Lochlands, Arbroath Sunday.
Bangladesh bowlers and fielders did a tremendous job bundling out the opponent for just 46 runs before their batters reached 48 losing two wickets in 8.2 overs.
USA decided to bat first but Bangladesh pacer Jahanara Alam uprooted the stumps of their opener Erica Rendler in the first ball of the third over to reduce them to seven for one.
Jahanara also dismissed the other opener Nadia Gruny in the final ball of that over and the batting side started to lose wickets in regular intervals without scoring many runs.
Off-spinner Khadija tul Kubra picked up two middle-order wickets and two run outs added insult to the injuries of the USA side.

Nahida Akter, the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers and the player of the match, wrapped up the tail bagging three wickets in the end and left an easy target for their batters to chase.
It seemed the women in red and green were cruising to a 10-wicket victory but their openers Ayesha Rahman (eight) and Sanjida Islam, who scored 30 off 34 with three boundaries and a six, lost wickets while trying to heave off-spinner Samantha Ramautar off consecutive deliveries in the eighth over.
Suddenly the Tigresses were reduced to 42/2 from 42/0 but that did not make much impact on the result.
Bangladesh were supposed to start their campaign by playing the match against Papua New Guinea Saturday but the game could not start due to rain and it will be played on the reserve day Monday.
