The Bangladesh Premier League T20 governing council will sit and chalk-out the by-laws of the tournament after finishing the series of meetings with the six existing franchises.
With only a month in hand to the players’ draft for the seventh edition of the tournament, the BPL GC is mulling circulating the tournament by-laws among the franchises.
In order to start a fresh four-year cycle, the BPL GC met the franchises owners and representatives over the past week to understand their suggestions and observations based on experience.
The decision to meet the franchises one at a time had come after the BPL GC faced criticism over their proposed decision to start new sets of rules in the tournament.

The BPL GC Sunday met Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan to discuss and address the findings from the meetings with the franchises.
“We met the president to address him of the meetings we had with the BPL franchises. We informed him of the observations we had from the meetings. We will soon sit again to chalk-out the by-laws and then circulate those to the franchises,” said BCB director and BPL GC technical committee chairman Jalal Younus to the media Sunday.
When queried if the BPL GC will consider the suggestions of the franchises, Jalal said, “Well, we have listened [in the meeting] to the suggestions that the franchises had. Now we will work on preparing the by-laws for the tournament.”
Alongside setting the rules which are to remain for the next four seasons of the tournament, BPL GC is also in search of new owners for the Chittagong Vikings franchise.

Chittagong were left without an owner after previous owner, DBL Group, decided to discontinue in the tournament.
The BPL GC is also thinking about adding a new franchise, which will turn it into an eight-team competition.
“We have so far received four to five EOI (Expression of Interest) for Chittagong franchise. We will soon start assessing those,” Jalal informed.
The seventh edition of the BPL is scheduled to start on December 6 this year.
