Mominul Haque remained unbeaten on 157 runs as the BCB XI made a strong start to the Dr. (Capt.) KT Memorial four-day cricket tournament 2019 in Bangalore Wednesday.

At stumps on day one, BCB XI finished on 303 for the loss of two wickets against Vidarbha Cricket Association at Alur - 2 (Golden Oval).

The Bangladesh side were asked to bat first and made a decent start until Saif Hasan got dismissed for 19 as the opening stand was broken on 46.

However, the other opener Jahurul Islam joined with captain Mominul and made a brilliant push as the duo added 177 for the second wicket.

Mominul went on to register his 20th first-class hundred.

Jahurul was unfortunate to depart for 96 off 202 balls with a dozen boundaries in the 65th over of the innings, courtesy a run out, while Mominul continued to build the innings.

The left-handed batsman remained not out on 157 off 217 deliveries with 20 boundaries and one over boundary and kept the third wicket partnership alive on 80 with Nazmul Hossain Shanto.

Shanto was undefeated on 24.

Right-arm pacer Darshan Nalkande of VCA with one scalp was the only bowler to have bagged any wicket.
