Tour diary: A day with Mashrafe, Miraz in beautiful Snowdonia

Skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza and off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz went to visit Snowdonia North West of Wales with their family during their leave period

Bangladesh players are spending a leisure time ahead of their next World Cup game against India at Edgbaston in Birmingham Tuesday.

The Tigers played their last match against Afghanistan Monday at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.

The team management gave four-day leave to the players to get refreshed.

Skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza and off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz went to visit Snowdonia North West of Wales with their family during their leave period.

They resided on a hilltop cottage at Bryncrug, Tywyn, Wales for two days and roamed around Snowdonia, which was a good choice to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city life.

When the captain informed us about the beautiful scenic place and suggested us to visit, it was hard to reject although it’s 116 miles away.

We drove from Birmingham to Snowdon to meet with Mashrafe and Miraz Thursday afternoon.

Snowdon is a small town in Gwynedd county, which is a famous tourist spot.

We tried to experience the renowned Snowdon Mountain Railway, but unfortunately, all the tickets were sold out for the day.

Later Mashrafe and Miraz visited Swallow Falls, Snowdonia National Park in the afternoon with their family and spent some time there.

Later we went to the hilltop cottage where they were residing and the scenic view all around was stunning.

It was a perfect place to escape from all the tension and pressure related to the World Cup, or cricket.

Both Mashrafe and Miraz spent quality time away from cricket and got mentally refreshed.

The current World Cup has not been too good for Mashrafe so far, considering his bowling as the experienced pacer took only one wicket in six innings.

Miraz took five wickets in six innings, but remained wicket-less in the last three matches.

It was some quality time for the Tigers duo with beautiful nature all around.

And with the family and closed ones around, time away from cricket can definitely help these players to freshen up for the next two matches.
