Ace Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan became the first cricketer in the history of the World Cup to cross 1,000 runs and take 30-plus wickets.
The milestone came during the Tigers’ 2019 World Cup game against Afghanistan at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton Monday.
Shakib scored 51 off 69 deliveries in the first innings, which helped Bangladesh to score 262 for the loss of seven wickets.
The southpaw crossed the 1,000-run milestone when he made 35.
With his 51-run innings, Shakib is currently the leading run-scorer in the World Cup 2019 with 476 runs in six innings with an average of 95.2 and strike rate of 99.16.
Shakib scored two centuries and as many half-centuries among those six innings, while he made 41 in the other innings with their game against Sri Lanka washed out.

Australia’s David Warner is second in the list of the highest run-scorers with 447 runs in six innings.
Shakib also finished with five wickets in his quota of 10 overs conceding just 29 runs.
The Magura lad did not give away any boundary and leaked only one six against the Afghans.
His 30-wicket landmark in the World Cup came when he took his second wicket, that of Afghan captain Gulbadan Naib (47) in the 29th over.
Shakib’s 5/29 is the best bowling figure in the 2019 World Cup as the previous best was Mohammad Amir’s 5/30 against Australia at Somerset County Ground in Taunton.
Shakib’s five-wicket haul is the first ever by a Bangladeshi in the 50-over World Cup.

He now joins Kapil Dev and Yuvraj Singh in the list of players who have made a century and taken a five-for in the same edition of a World Cup.
Shakib had a tough year in 2018 dealing with injuries.
But the maverick all-rounder came back strongly prior to the World Cup and worked hard, particularly on his fitness, losing a bunch of kilograms to become more fit.
During the tri-nation ODI series in Ireland just before the World Cup, Shakib informed that he was hungrier than ever to perform well at the flagship ICC event, and he had undergone the best possible preparation, in terms of improving fitness and training hard in order to shine.
And it reflects in his performance in the tournament so far as Shakib successfully lit up the cricket arena’s biggest stage, World Cup, to prove once again as to why is the world’s best all-rounder.
