Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal is facing an injury scare as the left-handed opener got hurt in his left wrist during practice at Kennington Oval Cricket Ground in London Friday.
Bangladesh took part in a practice session Friday from 10am local time ahead of their first game in the World Cup against South Africa at the same venue Sunday.
After the warm-up session, Tamim went to bat in the nets near the center wicket.
He was practicing batting in the nets by throwing down.

Suddenly a ball hit his left wrist and the opener looked to be in grimacing pain immediately.
Team physio Thihan Chandramohan and other players rushed towards him and after a few moments, Tamim went back to the dressing room.
According to a team source, Tamim is being assessed by the physio.
He is expected to undergo a precautionary x-ray later in the evening.

“It’s too early to call on Tamim’s injury at the moment. But he is feeling alright. He informed that there is no need to scan his hand at the moment. But as a precaution, we will do a scan on his left hand [Friday],” said Bangladesh team manager Khaled Mahmud to the media at the Oval.
Tamim was rested for the practice match against India in Cardiff this week due to slight muscle spasm.
Meanwhile, all-rounder Saifuddin did not bowl in the nets Friday.
He is suffering from back injury since playing the practice match against India Wednesday.
@BCBtigers' left-arm pacer @Mustafiz90 may be going through some injury problems and lack of form recently but he will be the key player for the side in the ongoing @cricketworldcup, according to the think-tank.https://t.co/sT3lEX8RcL#BCBTIGERS #BCB #TIGERS #BANGLADESHCRICKET

Skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza has also not bowled in the nets due to precaution of his long-standing hamstring injury.
Tigers’ pace bowling coach Courtney Walsh said despite some injury concerns, the team are in pretty good shape and confident of performing well in the World Cup.
“I think we are in a pretty good situation. The guys have practiced pretty well in the last couple of games. They played pretty well in the last tournament so the confidence level is pretty high. We just have to go out, enjoy the cricket and play well. I know we lost the last warm-up game, but I think the guys are in a good space, we’ve been practicing pretty well, playing good cricket. I think the confidence level among individual players is very high,” said Walsh at the Oval Friday.
“I think the guys are keen to perform well. Everybody wants to do well for Bangladesh in the World Cup. I am just happy the guys are in a good place, you can see the body language out there, enjoying the practice and the cricket. I am excited for [Sunday] and hoping that we can get a very good start,” Walsh concluded.
