Bangladesh U-16 beat Pakistan U-16 in 3-dayer

The two teams will now depart for Khulna Thursday where the second and final three-dayer will take place at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium from Sunday to Tuesday

Bangladesh U-16 cricket team beat their Pakistan counterpart by five wickets in the first of two three-day matches at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah Wednesday.

Batting first, Pakistan were all out for 148 in 50.4 overs, Muhammad Waqas top-scoring with 39.

Mushfiq Hasan bagged four wickets for Bangladesh conceding 37 runs.

In reply, Bangladesh conceded a nine-run first-innings lead as they were dismissed for 139 in 45.5 overs, Sakib Shahriar scoring the highest 43.

Khalid Khan notched a five-for for the visiting side giving away 33 runs.

Pakistan made 110 in their second innings before being skittled out in 44.3 overs, thus giving the home side a target of 119.

Sameer Saqib scored 48 for Pakistan, while Ashiqur Rahman and Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi took four wickets each for Bangladesh, leaking 21 and 38 runs respectively.

In pursuit of 119, the junior Tigers reached their destination in 38.5 overs, Sakib leading the way with 65.

The two teams will now depart for Khulna Thursday where the second and final three-dayer will take place at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium from Sunday to Tuesday.

All the three one-dayers will also be held in Khulna, on May 10, 12 and 15 respectively.

The Pakistan youngsters will depart on May 16.
